June Favourites - 2016

It's been a while since I wrote a monthly favourites post but I've been loving a lot of new stuff lately so thought you might like to hear about what I was loving in June.

Clarins Fix' Make-Up (£23 at Boots) - I was looking for a new makeup fixing spray after running out of my MAC Fix+ and I was almost going to buy one of the Urban Decay sprays but then I spotted the reformulated Fix' Make-Up on the new products stand at Clarins. I sprayed it and just loved the fresh rose scent and I loved the expensive looking glass bottle so I bought it. I've been using it every single day since I got it and I just love it. It's a really refreshing step after applying makeup and I feel like it sets everything nicely, including powder products. I'll be honest, I can't really tell if it makes my makeup last longer or not but I love this step in my routine so I don't care!

Clarins Double Serum (£55 at Boots) - I'd fancied trying this for a long time and ended up buying it on a bit of a whim back in May. For the first two weeks of using it, I didn't really notice much of a difference to my skin but after that I felt like my skin got so much smoother and my pore size seemed reduced. It improves the texture of my skin so much and I notice the difference in my skin if I go a few days without using it. It's not the most hydrating of serums though so I tend to use this during the day and something more hydrating at night. I've noticed this gets used up pretty fast and I only have a little bit left now so we'll see how my skin gets on when I try other things and I may come back to this!

Clarins Extra-Comfort Toning Lotion (£20.50 at Boots) - This toner is amazing on my skin as I feel like this adds some moisture as well as preparing my skin for serum and moisturiser. It is a liquid with a silky feel to it, as if it has a bit of serum in there. It leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean without stripping it.

Odacité Eye Contour Serum (£33 at Cult Beauty) - This product that I got in a Cult Beauty goody bag has come in extremely handy and I'm so glad I got the chance to try it. My current eye cream (Clarins Eye Contour Balm) doesn't give me the hydration I'm used to around my eye area but I didn't really want to splash out on another product so I've been mixing the Odacité Eye Contour Serum into it and it does a brilliant job at adding a shot of moisture. I also love using it on it's own at night for a more concentrated hydration hit. My skin drinks it straight up!

Sunday Riley Flora (£70 at Space NK) - Sunday Riley oils are pretty expensive but I've found that they really do deliver good results. This one is my go-to night oil and it's perfect for hydrating my dry skin. I could definitely use this during the day too as it sinks straight in, I was just using up my Clarins first. My skin feels so good in the morning when I've had this on overnight. It contains so many different rose extracts, I thought it would smell nice, however it doesn't really smell of rose that much. This doesn't bother me though and I would totally recommend this, despite it's £70 price tag.

Shay & Blue Salt Caramel Fragrance (£55 at M&S) - This is one of my favourite product discoveries of the year! I just love a good sweet scent and this takes it to a whole new level. It's actually a really unique scent, it's sweet but sophisticated and sexy too. It has notes of caramel, tonka bean, bourbon vanilla and sea salt. I urge you to smell this if you like sweet scents and are looking for something different from the usual scents in Boots, Debenhams etc. Shay & Blue is available in M&S, John Lewis and Fenwick. They have a candle in this scent too and I really want it!

This Works Skin Deep Dry Leg Oil (£39.50 at Space NK) - This was a pricey purchase but I've been suffering with dry skin on my legs and after trying some of this on my hand, I was amazed at how it instantly moisturises the skin. This is perfect on my legs and makes them look healthy and glowing. It doesn't sting if you use it straight after shaving either. It's a dry oil so you don't have to stand around naked for ages, waiting for it to dry and all of the essential oils make it very relaxing to use. I love the smell of it.

MAC Soft Serve Shadow in Put Me To Shame (£16 at MAC) - The Soft Serve eyeshadows come in the same packaging as the Paint Pots but they are more of a spongy, cream to powder texture. They are also less pigmented than Paint Pots but I've been loving the Put Me To Shame shade which is a shimmery, cool toned, metallic taupe. It's very flattering on my eyes with my skin tone.

Laura Mercier Baked Blush Illume in Rosé (£30 at House of Fraser) - I bought this when I had some points to spend in Space NK and noticed the beautiful marbled rose pan on the 'New In' stand. It's a gorgeous shimmering mix of pink, bronze and icy white that creates a glowing rose gold shade on the cheeks. It also has a few silver glittery bits but nothing too crazy. I can definitely pull this off during the day. It's just so dreamy to look at and to use!
