Even more shopping...

After two Boxing Day sales hauls (Part 1 / Part 2) I thought I was done with shopping but then I decided to pop to town today for a new dressing gown. I always head to Primark for that sort of thing and I knew there wouldn't really be any reductions on dressing gowns as they are already fairly cheap at £10. Ideally I wanted one of the bold pink or purple ones but they didn't have my size. I settled for a navy one with white polka dots and a mixture of white/pink hearts. It's really soft and will keep me nice and warm for the rest of the winter.

Whilst in the nightwear section of Primark I spotted some cute Minnie Mouse pyjama bottoms with black and white stripes with a pop of pink in Minnie's bow so they had to be purchased! They were £7 and they had some Minnie pyjama tops that would have matched but I prefer to wear vest tops.

Following on with the Minnie Mouse theme, when I saw the pink slipper boots, I needed those too! They were £5 and are soooo soft and cosy! They aren't a structured boot, just like a thicker slipper sock with grips on the bottom and really soft fleece inside. Love them!

My final Primark purchase was this canvas print for the bargainous price of £3! I'm obsessed with Paris so I pretty much love anything with Paris scenary on and I liked the pink 'Paris' text on it too. It looks really nice against the grey background.

Another obsession of mine is Ronan Keating. I grew up loving the Irish boyband Boyzone and have loved Ronan Keating ever since. I don't think I'll ever grow out of this obsession especially when he keeps getting better with age! (I know he's not the most popular guy but I love him!). Anyway, I had to buy his 2014 calendar! With 40% off, I paid £5.39.

I headed to Boots as I needed some conditioner and ended up buying 3 of the L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise products on a 3 for 2 deal. I picked up the EverRiche Nourishing & Flowing Conditioner to go with the matching shampoo that's currently in my shower. I love the EverRiche range but fancied trying something else so picked up the shampoo and conditioner from the EverStrong range.

I mentioned in my previous posts that I normally buy more perfume sets in the sale but having received 3 bottles of perfume for Christmas I only bought one perfume myself. Well, after umming and ahhing over the Prada Candy L'Eau (£32.99) and Gucci Guilty (£34.99) sets, I caved in.

I love the regular Prada Candy scent and I've bought it twice but I've never owned the newer L'Eau release but often had a little spray on passing in a shop and loved it so decided I should just treat myself. I've also liked the Gucci Guilty scent for a while when I've tried the testers, so again, I indulged! They are both 50ml fragrances that come with a body lotion and the savings are pretty big compared to their normal prices. They will keep me going for a long time along with my other new perfumes! Also just worth noting, the bag that comes with Prada Candy is so nice, it doesn't seem like the usual cheap freebie you get with these sort of things and I would actually use it as a travel/makeup bag.

Ok surely that's my shopping done now! Haha. The next thing I'm looking forward to is the release of the new Revlon ColorStay Matte and Lacquer balms in January!

Let me know what you've been spending your Christmas money on or if you've picked up any really good bargains in the sales.
What new releases are you looking forward to in 2014?

Boxing Day Sale Shopping 2013 - John Lewis, Fenwick and Space.NK

As I mentioned in my first Boxing Day Sale Shopping 2013 post yesterday, the Fenwick and John Lewis sales started today so I headed back to town bright and early this morning to see if I could pick up some more bargains.

I didn't see many things I was interested in at John Lewis but when I saw the Ciate Mini Mani Month going for half price (£21) it had to be snapped up as I was super jealous of everyone opening their calendars throughout December! Even better, my fiance bought this for me as he said he wanted to buy me some perfume or something in the sales so I chose this!

I didn't see a lot in Fenwick either. I was hoping there would be some good Michael Kors bags in the sale but I was sadly mistaken. They seemed to have the worst bags I've ever seen in the sale! I honestly don't even remember seeing those bags on sale for full price. Hmm. Anyway, I decided to pick up this All About Eyes set from Clarins as it was reduced from £21 to £14. I've tried the Wonder Perfect Mascara before and really liked it. I also fancied trying the mini sizes of Eye Revive Beauty Flash and Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch that came with it. The little white bag with flecks of glitter in it is nice too.

The last shop I headed to was Space.NK and I didn't think I'd get much from there having browsed the sale online on Christmas Day without buying anything. This all changed when I got to the store though...

I really like the Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray (post here) that I received free with Elle magazine back in the Summer so when I saw this set going for half price I decided it was a good opportunity to stock up on the hairspray as the full size retails for £20 on it's own and this set cost me £13.50 to get a half size bottle plus a full size Texture hair (un)dressing creme worth £22.

I've always heard good things about Elemental Herbology skincare and the Cell Food product in particular. I love me some good skincare so for £23.50 I thought what better way to try a full size bottle of Cell Food and a very generous size of their Facial Glow Radiance Peel.

The Laura Mercier Shimmer Effects Mini Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection featured in my Space.NK Top Gift Picks back in November as I've had a Caviar Stick before and found them to be a really nice eye product. These colours are really nice and wearable in shades like pink and bronze so for £14.00, I've definitely got a bargain.

My Christmas Haul included some REN Skincare as it's a brand I've tried a few samples from and really liked so wanted some full sizes. Lots of people seem to love the Rose Otto body care range so I decided to pick up this set of Rose Otto Body Wash and Body Lotion along with Neroli and Grapefruite Body Wash and Body Cream for £7.50 so I could try them out. I had a sniff of them before and they smell amazing!

I've been loving candles lately so decided to pick up this mini size of the Space.NK Shimmering Spice candle to prolong the Christmassy feeling. It smells of cinnamon and other nice things (good description!) and was reduced to £7.50.

I think that's my sale shopping done now and I'm so pleased with everything I've bought over the last few days. They should keep me going a little while!

Have you picked up any of these items?
Let me know what you've been buying in the sales.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers

About a month ago I spotted these new MUA (Makeup Academy) lip products on the Superdrug website on a 3 for 2 deal so I had to indulge. They are part of an MUA Luxe range which is slightly more expensive and has more appealing packaging than their usual basic range. These Velvet lip lacquers are £3 so they are still fairly inexpensive compared to most other brands. They are a bit like the Rimmel Apocalips in terms of them being a super pigmented lip product with a lip gloss style applicator but these are matte rather than glossy.

L-R: Funk, Atomic and Criminal

There are 5 colours in the range (see here for all colours) and I was able to get my hands on three of them. I really like all of the colours I got - Funk (a rosy toned pink), Atomic (a bold red-orange) and Criminal (a bright hot pink).

L-R: Funk, Atomic and Criminal

I think these are great for an easy bold lip. The applicator makes them easy to apply neatly and you only need a little bit of product for full on pigmentation. In fact, the less you use the better as it's better to apply this in thin layers otherwise it can take longer to dry and end up cracking when you move your lips!

Once this product dries, it has a matte look but it's really comfortable to wear and it doesn't dry out the lips. It lasts for hours too. Although beware of eating/drinking/licking your lips with this one as when it gets wet it has a tendency to flake off a bit. Mainly around the inner part of the lips so it's not massively noticeable but because it's painted on to the lips it doesn't just smudge off gradually.

I definitely think these are a great bargain buy so they are worth checking out if you have an MUA stand in your local Superdrug. I like the look of the Power Brow products from the same MUA Luxe range. They look like a bit of a dupe for the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil that looks great but is rather expensive!

Do you like the look of these lip lacquers?
Have you tried them?

Boxing Day Sale Shopping 2013 - Boots and Lush

This morning I headed out to the Boxing Day sales in town to see what bargains I could find. My first point of call was Boots and I had two things in mind - a Michael Kors perfume set and the Soap & Glory set of lip crayons called 'Loved & Glossed'. Neither of those ideas worked out too well for me as I wanted the Citrus Michael Kors perfume not realising they only did the Glam perfume in a set and the Soap & Glory set had sold out. I got to the sale about 20 minutes after the store opened so I think they must have all sold on Christmas Eve.

I was a bit dissapointed at first but then I saw all of the half price Philosophy items so picked up the 'Peppermint Stick' shower gel. Yummy and only £7! I also remembered that I'd been wanting the Calvin Klein Down Town perfume since it launched not long ago but was holding off for the sales. I got this for £16.87, also half price and it's a 50ml size! Finally I spotted a few of the Soap & Glory 'Once upon a Lime' sets that contained items from the Sugar Crush range. I really like the body wash and body scrub so was pleased to see smaller versions of these in this set along with a full size Body Buttercream and a shower scrunchy. This was down from £18.00 to £9.00.

Next I headed to Debenhams but I didn't really see anything good there apart from perfume sets. Normally I buy several of these as they are hard to refuse at 1/3 or 1/2 off but as I already got 3 bottles for Christmas, I don't want to have too many hanging around my room!

Normally I miss the half price Christmas stock in Lush as I forget about Lush until it's too late but I was in the store just after it opened so I had a good range of stock to choose from! Yay!

I chose the Stardust set in a beautiful pink glittery star box containing Rock Star soap, Candy Mountain bubble bar, Snow Fairy shower gel, Snow Fairy Sparkle, Star Light Star Bright bath melt and the Space Girl bath ballistic. A fabulously girly mixture of very sweet scented goodies. Very pleased with this, especially since it cost just under £13!

I also went for the Best Wishes set containing the Golden Wonder bath ballistic, Snowcake soap and Luxury Lush Pud bath ballistic all for £6.75! I now have a nice mixture of some products I've used before (and love!) along with some new things I fancied trying.

I'll be heading back to the sales tomorrow for the start of the Fenwick and John Lewis sales so there could be a part 2 to this post!

Have you picked up anything from the sales?

Christmas Haul 2013

Hey everyone, hope you had an amazing Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I like to see what people got for Christmas as I love a good haul post so I wanted to show you my gifts too. I'm not trying to show off in any way, I'm super grateful for everything I received and I love it all. Well, I did choose a lot of it myself... ;)

Starting with the surprises I got for Christmas from my brother. He knows me well so got me some Soap & Glory and Lush goodies! I'm really looking forward to using my Melting Marshmallow Moment luxury bath melt as I haven't had one for years and it has a super sweet scent that I love. The bubble bar is Dorothy, which I haven't tried before but it smells lovely and relaxing and the rainbow design (see here) is so cute.

I've never had Ghost perfume before but I'm really glad he got me the original one that I think smells a bit like Turkish Delight and the Moonlight one smells like a fab evening fragrance. The Cranberry & Orange candle in the style of Yankee Candles is so good too. The scent is so powerful and it's great value from B&M too.

My parents gave me money along with some things I picked out myself; Clinique Whole Lotta Candy Chubby Stick set, I Heart Christmas book by Lindsey Kelk (read all of the others in the series so had to get this!) and the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual which I've fancied getting for years. They also got me some surprises like PJs, cosy socks, candles, nail polish, and Hugo Boss Orange perfume.

Lastly I have the gifts from my fiance. We decided to choose our own gifts this year and set a rough budget before we began to choose things. It was our 10th Christmas together this year (celebrated our 9th anniversary in November!) so it gets pretty hard to pick unique gifts every Christmas/Birthday etc! A lot of the things I'm about to show you are from Space.NK where they had a fantastic deal on - spend over £150 and get a super generous goodie bag with a £50 voucher to spend on anything so although all this stuff is pretty expensive, I maximised the money as much as possible!

I'd been eyeing up the NARS Promiscuous Lip Pencil Coffret as soon as it hit the Space.NK website so I knew that was my first choice. It is a cute set of 5 mini lip crayons (4 velvet matte, 1 velvet gloss) contained in a lovely little makeup bag. It's really good to try all of those colours for £30 as I would never use the full sizes up anyway. I had to go for the NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation after hearing Gemma from Miss Makeup Magpie raving about it. I went for the cult NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna as I had to see what all of the fuss is about. Hope it's not too dark for me! Another massively raved about product is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer so that wasn't a hard choice! I also picked up 3 NARS Blushes in the shades Deep Throat, Luster and Gaiety. A nice range of shades there I think.

Also added to my basket to make up (no pun intended!) the £150 order was the Stila Colour me Pretty set of Convertible Colors for Lips and Cheeks, something I've wanted to try for a long time so to get a range of them for only £19.50 was a good deal for me. I also got my first bottle of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir to see if it lives up to the hype. You don't actually hear much about that anymore to be honest! The picture below is the goodie bag I got with my £150 order. (The £50 voucher was spent on two of the NARS blushes and the Caudalie Beauty Elixir)

Goodie bag contents

REN is a brand I've tried samples from but never bought any full size products so when Kate at Ghostparties had a fab 20% offer on her blog I decided to get the Invisible Pores Detox Mask and the No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm. I've tried a sample of the mask before and loved it. It really does reduce pore size! I was in the market for a new cleanser and thought the balm sounded like a nice treat.

My final gift is the product you are probably sick of seeing right now! The Urban Decay Naked 3 palette just had to be purchased though. I love the original Naked 1 palette and have pretty much used it every day for the past few years but for some reason never ended up buying Naked 2. As soon as I saw the rose gold tin and the pink based nudes of the Naked 3, I fell in love!

I'm really looking forward to using all of my Christmas presents and I'm very lucky to have received so many nice things.

What did you enjoy most about Christmas this year?

Beauty Blogger NYE Makeup Challenge with Fragrance Direct

I was recently contacted with an exciting opportunity from Fragrance Direct. They are working with a handful of beauty bloggers on a New Year's Eve make-up challenge.

I was able to choose 5 products up to the value of £15 from the Fragrance Direct website to help create a New Year's Eve look. I've already been very impressed with the heavily discounted Essie nail polishes and the Dainty Doll makeup from their site so I jumped at the chance to try more things and have some fun along the way.

Rimmel Match Perfection Light Perfecting Cream Compact Foundation in Light Porcelain (£3.99 - link)
I already own the liquid version of this foundation (link to review) so when I saw the compact I was excited as it looks like a bit of a dupe for the NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation I'm getting for Christmas. It's a nice foundation in a light shade with a creamy application, perfect for my dehydrated skin!

Rimmel Glam Eyes HD eyeshadow quad in English Oak (£1.99 - link)
Four pigmented, smooth and blendable eye shadows in very wearable shades for less than £2.00 - what a bargain!

NYC High Definition Mascara in Black (£1.99 - link)
Fantastic at separating and defining the lashes. Love it!

NYC Cheek Glow Powder Blush in Central Park Pink (£1.50 - link)
A very subtle, peachy colour that adds a glow and a slight bronzed look on my pale skin.

Rimmel Apocalips in Nova (£5.50 - link)
A beautiful bright rosy pink colour that goes well with a stronger eye look, looks fabulously glossy and stays on for hours.

Not bad for a total of £14.97 (plus a hint of concealer under the eyes and a bit of clear brow gel)!

I'd love it if you could check out the Fragrance Direct Facebook page where you will see the NYE makeup challenge (direct challenge link here). If you like my look (link to my look), perhaps you could click the 'Like' button on my photo to vote for me! I'd be so grateful and you may even win a bottle of Paco Rabanne Lady Million for voting!

Thanks for reading :)
